Cultural Celebration Day

Go Fiji!!!!!!!
We are awesome!
3rd Place in the school cultural day tournament!

Many thanks to all the whanau that supported us today, with food preparation, equipment, and for joining us at school.
We couldn't do it without you.

Many thanks also to Mr D and Miss C who organised this day between them.  Thank you also needs to go to Sara who took the photos, there were so many to choose from, it was so difficult to just pick a few.
Come in and see the ibook in Room 3 of the day.

We had an absolutely fantastic day today, with lots of fun activities for all to enjoy, even the parents with the parade, class presentations and a few sack races.
The food was glorious, so much new stuff to try.  For myself personally I love Romanian meatballs, chop suey, sushi, and of course Fijian Honey bread.  (Yum see me if you want the recipe.)
Thank you to the parents who were able to explain more about the food that they had brought along. It was amazing to see the correct way of getting in to a coconut, ummmm it didn't work the same when I did it Mrs Touli.

The activities that we took part in were, Sack races, Hoop throw, Gumboot toss, Sandcastle building, Egg and Spoon Race and Dress up race.

Visit to the Showgrounds

We were so lucky on Friday, we got to show to the Showgrounds to see the Romanian Rugby team train, but we got there too late.  That was ok though because we got to talk to them and have our photos taken with them.

We even got to do the Haka and a song for them.  Yippee
