Cool     Make a poster advertising the books that your favourite author has written.

Cool     Choose an advertisement on the television that you like.  Explain to me why you like this advertisement, what it is selling, the characters in the advertisement.

Cool       Choose 5 advertisements, make a tally chart of how many times those adverts are played during a certain time frame ie: between 3.30 and 5.30.  Graph your results at the end of the week and record what advertisement is played the most.

EOTC WEEK

The children have appeared to have loved our EOTC week activities so far, and in a way it is fantastic that the trip to Lake Hood and the camp over have had to be postponed until next week, allowing the children a good rest before our next lot of activities.

Monday afternoon saw all children working in house groups.  The activities were varied and the children enjoyed all of them.

Tuesday afternoon we were entertained by the Duffy Theatre, who put on another fantastic show for us.  The singing was awesome and the harmonies were divine.

Wednesday saw us going to Peel Forest.  We completed a walk in the morning and then in the afternoon we walked to the Big Tree.  The children got to experience what it is like walking in a forest, but they also got to listen to the bird life, and to see the different plants and features of a forest.  Over the next few weeks you are all more than welcome to come and see our art work about our trip to Peel Forest.

Breaking News

As I sit here typing this I am watching the Breaking News of the Japan 8.9 magnitude earthquake.  My heart and thoughts go to those people who are experiencing this at the moment.  I can't believe what is happening to our earth at the moment.

Room 3 has been doing a lot of written work recently about what we need to do to stay safe in an earthquake, but also what we should have in our survival kits to help us survive.  Hopefully your children have discussed this with you and are encouraging you to prepare a survival kit.  You just don't know when you will need one, and who knows with this earth of ours at the moment.

We will publish our Explanations about why we should be prepared for a Natural Disaster.
